The Pirate Costume, pt 2

I only had so much linen fabric so I decided to experiment with dyeing it to make it distinctive from the rest of the costume.

The brown-striped linen was the most dramatic, but it's also lost most of the stripe unless you've got your nose pressed to the fabric. The bag also turned out more faded denim than I expected, but... I wasn't looking for too rich of color, so it worked.

They were made up into two different bags.

I made up the pattern for the belt bag as I went along. It ended up with two distinct separate pockets and the flap closed over both with that gold button I found in my button collection. It was great for security, but not great for ease of access. I didn't take a single photo still. I need to rework this.

I've lost count of how many drawstring bags I've made over the years. I could probably make one in my sleep at this point. My favorite design feature is that I added a key ring to the top lip of the bag so that my keys don't sink to the bottom. Helps a lot with panic.
